The Good Value of Prefixes

English Garden_PrefixesWhen my family travels, we collect local phrases and sayings like other people collect souvenirs.

We don’t mean to–it just happens. We are natural storytellers and love to go through our shared experiences and relive them. Mention a trip we’ve taken, and we’ve got a favorite character with a regional accent and a funny story.

When I was putting together today’s article on prefixes, I was reminded of Jane, whom we met in England.

Jane took us on a tour of the most fabulous gardens, and she would introduce us to her prized plants as if they were old friends. We quickly found out that one of her highest compliments to a plant was calling it a “good value.”

She loved the thrift of a plant that could be propagated–planted once and multiplied through cuttings, with no additional cost. With great enthusiasm she would reach down and pet a soft green ground cover and remark, “Now here’s a good value.” Or she’d arrange the tendrils of a rambling vine and say, “Do you know this one? Here’s a good value.” Back in our hotel, we couldn’t resist trying out her saying for ourselves. “Now here’s a good value,” we’d say with our best English accent.

Prefixes can be put in the category of a “good value.”

As you’ll find out in the free report, prefixes can be learned once and then applied to many different words. Once you learn the prefix dis, you can apply it to hundreds of words to form new words: disarm, disband, disassemble, disconnect. Spelling and reading long words is much more manageable when you recognize the prefixes.

Read the free article The Complete Guide to Prefixes and discover the good value of prefixes.

The article includes:
